Joe Krown Trios

The Joe Krown Trio + 1 featuring Papa Mali is Joe's most current project. It features Joe on Piano and Hammond B-3 organ, legendary New Orleans based, American singer-songwriter, guitarist, singer and producer Papa Mali and the New Orleans session rhythm section of Casandra Faulconer on bass and vocals and Eric Bolivar on drums and vocals.

In the spring of 2023 Joe released "Tribute". This CD is a tribute to the music and the original piano players that created the New Orleans piano style. Pianists like James Booker, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint and Professor Longhair.
Soon after the release of Tribute, Joe put together this band to play the music from Tribute and to continue keeping this music and the music from these pianists alive. All of the music the Joe Krown Trio +1 featuring Papa Mali performs whether it's classic covers or originals is in the tradion of these piano masters.

Following the tradition of Joe's legendary Trio with Walter Wolfman Washington and Russell Batiste, The Joe Krown Trio +1 featuring Papa Mali has a regular spot on Sunday nights at the Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans. The Trio+1 also makes regular appearances at other local New Orleans nightclubs like Tipitina's, Snug Harbor, Chickie Wah Wah and more. Joe presents the Trio +1 at his French Quarter Fest and Jazz Fest shows every year. The Trio +1 has also made trips to Florida, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi and the Carolinas.
